β€œGuy don’t need no sense to be a nice fella.

Seems to me sometimes it jus’ works the other way around.

Take a real smart guy and he ain’t hardly ever a nice fella.”

    • So glad you enjoyed this and some other of his work – I really love getting to feature those spectacular photographers out there. Granted some of them are 1-shot-wonders (up to now), but most of them really have fantastic stuff in their streams. I’m so happy you took the time to check out his work and obviously to visit my blog and comment: Greatly appreciated!

    • Thank you πŸ™‚ Just out of curiousity, do you have a Steinbeck favorite?

Oh and on a sidenote: I’m not sure if the nomination for HUG Award slipped through the cracks, I thought I left a comment on your blog, but maybe I didn’t and well in any case I just wanted to make sure, that you received the nomination (not b/c I want an acceptance post or anything. Simply b/c I want you to have it, if that makes sense… ) πŸ™‚

      • I don’t have a favorite really, but since Jim read me The Red Pony it has really stuck with me. I have been meaning to read East of Eden for years, I adore the movie with Jame’s Dean. Of course, Jim has read all of these books. I don’t know how he has time!! I’ve spent so many years reading books for my profession my fiction reading has suffered…I’d like to change that but now that I am blogging my fiction reading is even worse…

I’m sorry I did get the award and thanked you on my blog, but forgot to thank you on your blog. I get scattered. Thank you so much for considering me. Of course, you know it means a lot. I need to do a similar post on my blog but they take time I sort of hate telling people I’ve gotten an award. But it’s a good way to build our blog community and to let others know we appreciate them and expose others to great blogs. I will get on that. You’re the best πŸ˜‰

        • I completely forgot that Red Pony’s from Steinbeck too – and I’ve never read (so much to catch up on). I know exactly what you mean with the non-fiction reading (same here). Somehow instead of reading new books I tend to refer to those I’ve already read or watch TV (and usually the TV wins in recent times).

Don’t worry about the acceptance post, if you don’t want to. And I never thought to check your blog – sorry. πŸ˜‰ I think I just wanted you to read what I wrote about you, so that you knew how I felt about you – ridiculous, huh?

          :*

    • You are right! He totally does! I got a bit of an Oliver Twist vibe from him as well, but that might just be my superficial association with the fashion fad of the time πŸ˜‰

    • I’ve only read his (typical) three: “East of Eden”, “Grapes of Wrath” & “Of Mice and Men” + “The Tortilla Flat”- When Patrice mentioned “The Red Pony” and I realised I hadn’t even connected it to Steinbeck πŸ˜‰
