Calvin:
“Isn’t it strange that evolution would give us a sense of humor?

When you think about it, it’s weird that we have a physiological response to absurdity. We laugh at nonsense. We like it. We think it’s funny.

Don’t you think it’s odd that we appreciate absurdity? Why would we develop that way? How does it benefit us?”

Hobbes:
“I suppose if we couldn’t laugh at the things that don’t make sense, we couldn’t react to a lot of life.”

    • Thank you, Anessa! I thought so too – and she’s a cute girl. You should check out some of the other photos in the flickr photo stream I linked too – they are so worth it! πŸ™‚

    • Me too πŸ™‚ Like I told Angie, I worship Watterson – I really wished I had a “fanged terror” and a “transmogrifier” as well – I think I’d turn myself into a cute little puppy living with a young family. Lots of sleep, food and play πŸ˜‰

  1. I’ve just been reading your early post because I am working on a post about the HUG award. You are such a talented writer. I couldn’t have been so honest and I certainly wasn’t as wise as you are at almost thirty. You are a fascinating young lady.

    • Me too. I worship Bill Watterson! I had one professor in law school who kept quoting him b.t.w. – I loved his class and thought he was totally cool – I still flunked my final in his class, though πŸ˜‰
