24 Of 365 (366) For 2012

[All credit to Jonathan Luke Cox, whose lovely picture may be found here]

Johnny: “It’s like the mist is what’s pretty, ya know? All gold and silver.”

Ponyboy: “Hmm”

Johnny: “Too bad it can’t stay like that all the time.”

Ponyboy: “Nothing gold can stay.”

    • It was one of my favorite books growing up (I think I might have had a tiny crush on sodapop curtis, but don’t tell anyone 😉 ) 🙂

And Frost? What can I say. He or rather his words are comforting to me – not sure why – they just are.

Thanks for wishing me a golden day! In any case it had a golden lining 😉

      – Hope yours is at least as shiny as mine 🙂

    • Thank you 😀 I’ll let you in on a little secret, just between us girls here, on saturdays (or sundays) I collect photos that somehow appeal to me on Flickr(usually around 20 – sometimes less sometimes more) and combine them with the emotion they hold and then I search for a fitting quote and tag them all the way through and save them as drafts.

So in the mornings or afternoons (depending on when I post) I can search for my daily emotion in my drafts. Usually I’ve got something corresponding stashed away there.

Up to now, I’ve only had to go out and start a new search from scratch twice (fingers crossed).

So there you have it – it usually only takes up max 15 mins on week-days 😉 (not counting the search and combination time on the weekends obviously).

Thank you for appreciating them! 🙂 I really have fun doing this – there’s tons of great finds on Flickr (well lot of crap too) 😀

    • Thanks 🙂 I was doing my usual Flickr picture scan and this boys look, facial expression and the way the photo was taken by the photographer just screamed “The Outsiders” at me, which went well with my general feeling of time’s flying & savouring the moment today 😀

    • Very cool! Yeah, The Outsiders was one of my all-time favorite growing up. I didn’t really identify with anyone (not Cherry either), but I did feel like I could “understand” Ponyboy (and I might have had a small crush on Sodapop 😉 ).

I love that this is your favorite post so far – I hope to outdo it though 😉

    • You are so welcome 🙂 I was really astounded at the strong reaction to “The Outsiders” post – I guess it’s just one of those common strings that connects us all here

Have you ever read the other (semi) follow up novels of Hinton? I didn’t even know they existed before reading the Wikipedia on “The Outsiders” – Maybe I should look for those too…
